We round up all the new car announcements for June 2020

On this episode of auto complete we are breaking down many of the new cars announced over the last month course this includes fresh vehicles from BMW Mercedes Benz and yes, even Ford. So make sure you stick around for all that And a whole lot more wasting no time we start off with BMW. Is fabled the very infirm has taken the wrapper off its 2021 five series and this luxury sedans looks have been mildly tweaked. Emphasis on mild. Really the big news here is the availability of some electric Drive trains. So the 530 II model that one features a plug in hybrid system that shouldn't get just 288 horsepower and 310 pound feet of torque, and I suspect the performance of this drive train will be pretty good And of course fuel economy excellent. Now stepping up the ladder 540 I variants of the car feature a three liter turbo charged in line 620 21. That engine gains a 48 volt electrical system Which provides myriad benefits, like regenerative braking, and smoother engine stop-start events, to name a couple. This drive can get you 335 ponies, 332 torques. Moving inside, you'll find iDrive 7 in all of its glory. Infotainment system is now splashed across a larger dashboard screen that measures 12.3 inches. But get this, navigation is standard equipment, plus Apple Car Play and even Android Auto The auto have you heard of that before, well they are all included. What a time to be alive. Look for the 2021 BMW 5 series at dealerships in July and of course the base price should be right around 56 grand [MUSIC] Like their rivals over in Bavaria, the folk at Mercedes Benz have enhanced their E-Class coupe and convertible models for 2021. As with that 5 Series, these cars gain a few exterior styling tweaks. So welcome new technology and even updated power trains now maximizing available display real estate. The automakers lovely MBUX infotainment system is now finally making its way to the E Class coupe and convertible Now it comes with not one, but 212 point three inch panels and just for reference that's like about this much, which is a whole heck of a lot. So mbu x is one of the best multimedia solutions available today. And it's availability in these cars is of course, great news. Under the hood 2021 e450 model, gained an enhanced power train that features a 48 volt mild hybrid system. Built around a three litre inline six this arrangement gets you 362 ponies and 369 pound feet of torque, a. Nine speed automatic transmission does the shifting. You alright guys that was probably better as a written joke than a video one but whatever. iI 53 AMG variants of these cars are very similar But even more potent, packing up to 429 horsepower. So look for these Mercedes Benz is to go on sale near the end of 2020 which I'm pretty sure is this year. You know cars are emotional purchases they always have been and always will be Well,until they're all transformed into fully autonomous pods that everybody shares like a porta potty at the State Fair, but we're not there quite yet. drivers that do want a little extra style but don't need higher performance of pricing. Ford is offering a new SKU Tee line appearance package on its edge crossover. This provides enhanced looks courtesy of a new grill, updated bumpers, 20 inch wheels and a few other tweaks. Basically you get the more aggressive looks of an edge st without the V six engine and various chassis enhancements. And you save around $5,165 which I am all for because I'm a cheap bastard. These are quick tit bits of info presented in rapid succession. And we start with Tesla cuz I know you all are infatuated with them. So this manufacturer of all electric vehicles has cut prices on the Model 3, Model S and Model X. Yes, the popular model Pretty should be about $2,000 cheaper right now. The other two nameplates have all been made about 6% more affordable. So if you've been eyeballing a new Tesla, now may be the time to buy or lease. It's up to you. Next up a couple nuggets Kiya News. It's no secret we love the stinger. Going forward this hatchback could possibly just maybe going electric. In a recent interview Kareem Habib that's the firm's design boss, left the door open that a future version of the car might be an EV. Would you consider buying an electric Stinger? Moving along this Kia Optima is dead. Well, not exactly you see, the company's solid midsize sedan will continue to be offered. But it will probably be rebranded the K five, which is what the model is actually called in the company's home market of South Korea. You see recently the K five showed up as a 2020 21 model in an EPA listing which is pretty strong evidence that a name change is afoot. As for official automotive death notices the Acura RL x sedan is heading to that big parking lot in the sky. The automaker recently confirmed it will be dropping From the Acula line up by the end of this year, that means the MDX crossover will now serve as the brands flagship model. I never loved this vehicle, but I am sad to see yet another Sedan fall victim to the great crossover craze. God speed RLX, God speed. At least the folks at Mercedes Benz still see value in four door cars. A brand new S Class is in the works set to arrive for the 2021 model year and they just released an official teaser image. As you can see [MUSIC] See? It has a grill, headlights, and even wheels, such innovation. Actually, a few spy photos came out not long ago showing the new S class basically in its entirety. Kitten's out of the proverbial satchel at this point, so. I'm not sure why they're still trying to be coy about it. Finally, you can now pick up a Rolls Royce Cullinan for roughly 17 grand which is about as much as a Honda Fit. That means the boutique British automaker has discounted the vehicle by about $308,000 How'd they do it? Well, it's not exactly a full size SUV more like one eight scale. You see this is a scale model one made of more than 1000 pieces and it takes up to 450 hours to assemble. Which is twice as long as a real Kalinin. This thing is even built to the same exacting standards. The detailing here is simply incredible. All right, I think that's just about enough news for this show.
